KINGSTON, Jamaica – A few days after being listed as a major person of interest, a former policeman wanted in connection with murder and abduction is now in custody, while another ex-cop is being sought for a less serious crime.

Omar Ralph was held by police on Sunday night, two days after lawmen appealed for him to turn himself in for questioning about two recent incidents of murder and abduction.

He was held during a special police operation in Portmore, St Catherine, in the south of the island.

Up to yesterday he was being questioned by detectives about his involvement in the crimes.

Meantime, police have announced that another one of their former colleagues, Elijah Douglas, is wanted for wounding with intent, as a result of an incident two years ago.

According to media reports, Douglas has been on the run ever since the December 12th, 2008 incident and had left the island. However, he may have returned and police are asking the public to help them track him down.
