Lauryn Hillhas revealedRohan Marley- the father of five of her children - is not the daddy of her new baby boy.
The formerFugees singer, 36, who gave birth on Saturday, released a statement on her website to deny reports that her long-time on/off partner abandoned her while she waspregnant.
She described her relationship with Rohan,Bob Marley's son, as having a 'long and complex history' with 'long periods of separation over the years' - but pointedly referred to them have just five children together - not six.
As to who is the father of her latest addition, Lauryn was not giving anything away, saying she was reserving her right to privacy.
Her statement in full read: 'Mr Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning.
'To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form the WRONG conclusions.
'We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it.
'Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our five children together remain a joy to both of us.
'Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son.'
News of Hill giving birth was broken by the website 'Black Celeb Kids'. The website reported she 'had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck'.
The source added: 'All is well now and everyone is happy.'
It emerged just two months ago that the singer was pregnant.
At the time Rohan confused fans, by hinting he was not the father of Hill's then unborn child - but not categorically ruling it out.
Over the weekend he tweeted: 'I'm forwarding all well wishes to Ms Hill on the birth of her new son. I'm sure she'll appreciate the love being sent to her.'
The 39-year-old has been in a relationship with Hill for 15 years.
But rumours are circulating that he is dating 28-year-old Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana.
Miss Fontana posted a photo of her and Marley on Twitter with the caption, 'I'm in love with @Romarley 's heart.'
After rumours of an affair started, Marley hit back on Twitter, saying: 'Ms. Hill is the mother of my children, whom I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for. I would never do that.'
Hill and Rohan are parents to Zion, 14, Selah, 13, Joshua, nine, John, 8 and three-year-old Sarah. She is yet to reveal the name of her new son.
