The track opens with horns from Harry Toddler's classic single, "Bad Man Nuh Dress Like Girl." Vegas goes on to address current fashion & social trends that have stirred controversy within the Dancehall community. In the song's chorus, Vegas deejays "Well as a man, yuh haffi know certain law, hipsters & belly skin a nuh fi gangsta, as a man yuh haffi know certain law, weave and False Hair a Fi Lady Saw. As a man yuh haffi know certain law, yuh caan get yuh liquor and a drink outta straw, every gangsta weh know bout di law, if yuh never wear a panty a swear to Jah Jah." Vegas main point within the single is for men to dress like men whenever they go out & not to imitate styles of females who they associate with or see on television. "Certain Law" has received frequent airplay on Jamaican radio stations & has received noteworthy buzz within the Dancehall fraternity.

The song is one of a slew of summer hit singles from Vegas, who's also released "Video Light" on ZJ Chrome's Contra Riddim, "Better Place" on the Drink & Party Riddim as well as "Informer" which is a single paying tribute to recently incarcerated Reggae superstar & friend, Buju Banton.
